Gov’t pays GH¢10.8bn DDEP Coupon in full and on schedule

The Government of Ghana has fully and on schedule paid GH¢10.82 billion to bondholders under the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP). This payment, amounting to GH¢10,816,840,318.26, was made in its entirety on the stipulated date. According to the Ministry of Finance, this brings the total amount disbursed to DDEP bondholders since its inception in 2025 to GH¢41.36 billion.

This is the third DDEP coupon payment that has been paid entirely in cash. The timely payment of this sum underscores the government's fiscal responsibility and commitment to fulfilling its debt obligations. The Ministry further asserts that this payment is anticipated to boost investor confidence, diminish Ghana's sovereign default risk, and fortify the nation's financial credibility. All future DDEP obligations, the Ministry assures, will be paid in full and on schedule.
