Fadahunsi apologises for palace remarks, denies violence call, commends Owa Haastrup’s leadership

Senator Adenigba Fadahunsi, OFR, has expressed regret over the unrest caused by his remarks during a visit to the palace of the Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III. Speaking after the conclusion of the Osun State governorship election, Fadahunsi sought justice and voiced his pain over the deaths of members from his political party.

Critics had incorrectly attributed his emotional appeal to a call for violence, which Fadahunsi categorically denied. He maintained that his words were spoken during a difficult period, deeply affected by the loss of his party members. Fadahunsi commended Owa Haastrup for maintaining his composure and demonstrating the qualities of a true leader, regardless of political affiliations.

The senator emphasized that the peace of Osun State and Ijesaland should be prioritized over any political disputes. He called for peace, unity, and justice, urging the Osun State government and security agencies to investigate the killings thoroughly and ensure that justice is achieved through lawful and non-violent means. Fadahunsi remained steadfast in his pursuit of justice for the victims while encouraging his supporters and the general public to avoid actions that could escalate tensions.
