Ederson speaks out on failed Manchester United transfer, insisting 'tests went well'

Ederson has since renewed his contract with Atalanta and expressed confusion over the failed transfer, stating he would have considered other English sides if the tests had gone differently. Despite interest from multiple clubs, Ederson chose to stay at Atalanta due to his positive relationship with the club. He was unexpectedly added to Brazil's World Cup roster after goalkeeper Wesley suffered an injury.

United had aimed to secure the transfer in early July after agreeing to terms with Atalanta and Ederson. Manager Michael Carrick has since focused on bringing in established Premier League players, spending £85 million on Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos. The club's current priority is strengthening in midfield, with Newcastle United's Lewis Hall among their target options.
