Dubai accelerates India deal to adopt agentic AI in private sector

Dubai and India have strengthened their collaboration in agentic AI technology for private sector firms. The agreement, signed by Dubai Chambers and India's National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom), aims to help companies adopt agentic AI, a type of artificial intelligence that can understand goals, decide on actions, and execute them with minimal human supervision.

Agentic AI is increasingly used in operations and mobile devices to assist users. Unlike conventional AI, agentic AI can handle multi-step workflows, such as managing customer requests, processing documents, and providing technical support. This could lead to reduced operating costs, increased efficiency, and allow employees to focus on tasks requiring human judgment.

Nasscom, representing over 3,500 technology sector members, expects the agreement to foster expertise exchange and tap into business opportunities in the UAE. Indian technology companies could gain access to Dubai's large pool of tech companies and AI expertise, while Dubai firms could benefit from India's strong pool of AI talent.

Dubai's leadership in AI is evident through its ambitious plans, including the use of AI agents for half of all government services within two years. The city also unveiled a two-year plan to harness advanced AI in the private sector to secure a competitive edge in the global economy. Dubai's Chamber of Commerce will offer agentic AI training and establish incubators and funds to support the technology's adoption.

Dubai aims to become the world's leading hub for developing and deploying advanced AI solutions. Meanwhile, India has its own national agentic AI plans, with the IndiaAI portal driving the use of related technologies. Indian companies are planning to integrate agentic AI into their operations, though only a small percentage has already done so. Both Dubai and India are expanding international cooperation to support agentic AI adoption, enhance efficiency, and create new economic opportunities.
