Claude can now send Gmail emails — here's why you might want to test it first

Claude, Google's conversational AI, has recently expanded its capabilities by adding the ability to send, reply to, and forward emails through its Gmail connector. This update allows Claude to manage emails within its chatbot interface, streamlining workflow for users. Claude's Gmail connector offers several features, including searching and reading emails using natural language queries, drafting emails with proper formatting, managing email organization with labels and threads, and sending, replying to, and forwarding emails. Claude asks for user approval before performing any of these actions, but Team and Enterprise plans owners can decide whether members can bypass this approval process.

Additionally, Claude can list saved drafts, access email metadata, and send messages on behalf of users.

In addition to the Gmail connector, Claude also has connectors for Google Drive and Calendar. The Drive connector allows users to search, retrieve, share, move, and trash files in Google Drive. Claude can also access file metadata, preview documents, and manage permissions. Meanwhile, the Calendar connector enables users to view events, create, update, and delete events, and manage attendee lists.
