Cardoso offers Thato Sibiya advice ahead of Lille transfer
SABC Sport reported last week that the U20 international was being earmarked for a move to Europe.
Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso is confident that young left-back Thato Sibiya will continue his development during his transfer to French Ligue 1 club Lille. Sibiya, a U20 international, is set to move to Lille, with the club known for nurturing emerging talent. Initially, Sibiya will join on loan, and Cardoso is urging the youngster to capitalize on the opportunity and focus on making the move permanent.
Cardoso, who previously coached in France, is familiar with Lille's facilities, stability, and commitment to developing young players. He believes Sibiya is ready for the challenge and emphasizes that the coach is looking for the growth Sibiya will experience in France. Despite Sundowns' reluctance to sell players abroad, Cardoso acknowledges the importance of the opportunity for both the club and Sibiya, who represented South Africa in the U20 FIFA World Cup.
