Bitdeer contracts half of 9.5MW Malaysia AI facility under $400 million deal

Bitcoin mining firm Bitdeer has inked a significant $400 million AI cloud computing contract for a facility in Malaysia. The deal, signed with an undisclosed customer of "high credit quality," covers roughly half of the capacity at Bitdeer's A102 Malaysia data center. The agreement, which is set to begin in the first quarter of 2027, is expected to generate significant revenue as Bitdeer aims to bolster its AI cloud infrastructure.

Bitdeer AI, the company's artificial intelligence division, targets 350 megawatts of AI cloud data center capacity by the first quarter of 2028. This move is part of Bitdeer's broader strategy to diversify revenue streams beyond Bitcoin mining, as the company expands into AI infrastructure and high-performance computing.
