Bayern star Jamal Musiala’s season start is in doubt after two collapses in games

Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala’s season begins to look uncertain as he suffers two collapse incidents in warmup games due to a neurological issue. The 23-year-old German player went down after entering the field in a friendly against Heidenheim on Tuesday, just three days after a similar episode against Leipzig. He received immediate medical attention on the field before being substituted for both incidents.

Musiala revealed via Instagram that he has been diagnosed with "brief, temporary, but easily treatable absence seizures caused by a neurological dysfunction," which can cause the incidents he experienced. However, he reassured that there is "no additional health risk." Bayern has not released any updates on Musiala's condition, and the club has not responded to requests for comment.

The German Supercup match against Borussia Dortmund and the opening Bundesliga game against Stuttgart are scheduled for the following weekends. Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl stated that while there are no indications Musiala won't continue his career as before, it remains unclear if he can play against Dortmund or Stuttgart.

Bayern honorary president Uli Hoeneß acknowledged the situation as a "drama" for the club and emphasized that Musiala is receiving top medical care with unconditional support from the club and his personal circle. Musiala expressed optimism about his recovery, stating he is "very optimistic" and has the best support around him.
