Baraje Predicts PDP Comeback, Says APC Govs Are ‘Tenants’ in Government Houses

Ibrahim Shuaibu in Dutse reported that former PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Kawu Baraje, anticipates a revival of the party's power in Bauchi, Jigawa, and other states ruled by the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the 2027 general election. Baraje argued that the APC has lost the trust of Nigerians, attributing this to the weakened state of the PDP due to internal strife in past elections.

He made these claims during a conversation with journalists at Dutse International Airport, en route to Azare, Bauchi State, to oversee the inauguration of a 500-seater Computer-Based Test (CBT) and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre. This facility was generously donated by Adamu Usman Ahmed, the PDP candidate for governor in the 2027 election.

Baraje characterized APC governors as "tenants" in government buildings, emphasizing that the PDP has risen above its internal issues and is now in a strong position to reclaim power. He recounted how the party's trust in election results was initially doubted following the 2015 and 2023 elections but was eventually accepted as the people's choice. Baraje sees this acceptance as a catalyst for a broader transformation, describing it as a form of "revolution."

He also highlighted the PDP's renewed unity and the growing acceptance from the Nigerian populace, which he believes will be key to the party's resurgence in 2027. Baraje praised Ahmed for his investment in ICT and youth development, noting that this initiative demonstrates the importance of technology in equipping young people for the future.
