Al Nassr initiated their Saudi Pro League title defence with a strong win against Al Fateh, marking their first encounter with new coach Ange Postecoglou. The Australian manager, known for his trophy-winning history in his second season at clubs, appeared to be steering the team in the right direction. Cristiano Ronaldo, fresh from his wedding, was absent from the squad due to his recent commitments with the Portuguese national team.

Despite the second-half pressure, Hilal's striker Neves called for improved focus to maintain their high level of play.
