Aeronautical academy project takes shape in Ras Abu Abboud

Work on the Qatar Aeronautical Academy in Ras Abu Abboud is advancing as Public Works Authority (Ashghal) enhances educational and training infrastructure to meet international standards. The project aims to cultivate local talent, facilitate aviation sector growth, and enhance Qatar's standing as a regional aviation education and training hub.

Ashghal reported that the project's key elements are now taking shape, with design and construction underway across the academy campus. The development encompasses a Flight Operations and Pilot Training Building and an Air Traffic Control Simulation and Airport Operations Management Building. These structures will offer students and trainees cutting-edge practical training and simulation systems complying with aviation-sector standards.

A hangar for the Aircraft Support Services Unit at Doha International Airport is also under construction to accommodate the academy's training and operational needs, thereby improving integration among its specialized facilities. Accommodation buildings for students are being upgraded and expanded to boost capacity and elevate the quality of residential facilities.

An integrated master plan for the campus is being developed to maximize available space and ensure smoother movement of students, trainees, and staff. The project adheres to Global Sustainability Assessment System standards, incorporating improvements to infrastructure and building systems, increased energy and water efficiency, enhanced indoor environmental quality, and the utilization of sustainable materials.

Smart solutions will be employed to minimize the development's environmental footprint and bolster long-term operational efficiency.

Ashghal emphasized that the project is part of its commitment to furnish advanced infrastructure for specialized educational and training entities, staying abreast of rapid advancements in critical sectors, including aviation.
