국민대, 개교 80주년 맞아 2025학년도 후기 학위수여식 개최

Seoul National University (President Jang Seung-ryul) held its 80th anniversary '2025 Graduation Ceremony for Master's and Doctoral Degrees' on August 19th, at each college and graduate school. A total of 1,722 graduates received their degrees during the ceremony. This year's graduation ceremony held special significance as it marked the university's 80th anniversary.

Seoul National University has been pursuing its long-term development strategy 'KMU VISION 2035: EDGE' based on the achievements of the past 80 years, aiming for a new leap forward. The university's vision is to be a "standard of higher education," and it is advancing its education, research, and university-industry cooperation system through four major development strategies and eight characteristic areas.

The university is also presenting the 80th anniversary slogan 'Make the Rule, Break the Rule' to challenge and innovate, creating new standards beyond existing ones. In addition to commencing various commemorative activities, Seoul National University produced and distributed two commemorative fonts, 'Seonggokjeon' and 'Haengjeon,' which embody the university's history and founding spirit.

The university is also expanding its educational innovations, including the establishment of the Quantum Integration University and Bio Integration University, AI and digital technology-driven educational environment improvements, fusion education addressing industrial and societal changes, and personalized learning and career support for students.

President Jang Seung-ryul delivered a speech, stating, "This year is a meaningful year for Seoul National University, as it commemorates its 80th anniversary by reflecting on its past growth and looking toward a new future. As you receive your degrees today and embark on a new path, I hope you will expand your own potential, building upon the knowledge and experiences you have gained at the university."

He added, "The spirit of the 80th anniversary slogan 'Make the Rule, Break the Rule' is imbued within Seoul National University's commitment to challenge and innovate, constantly creating new standards. I urge you graduates to become 'truly national' individuals who, rather than following predetermined paths, forge their own unique paths from their respective positions, and to grow as the university supports your new beginnings and challenges."
