‘5년 만에 방한’ 왕이 “한반도 평화와 안정 위해 건설적 역할할 것”

The Foreign Ministry Secretary emphasized that the progress in China-Korea relations could contribute to peace and stability across the region. The Secretary also introduced the initiatives for peace and stabilization on the Korean Peninsula proposed by President Jae-myung, mentioning the need for China's proactive role in facilitating dialogue between North Korea and promoting its return to peace talks.

The King reiterated China's ongoing commitment to maintaining stability and constructing a constructive role for peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula. He also expressed hope for the peaceful coexistence of South and North Korea, and the steady growth and development of the Korean Peninsula. Amidst the ongoing talks between the US and North Korea, and the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting, the Chinese role in the matter has gained attention.

The Secretary commented on the North-South Korea summit mediation by stating that it is a decision for the US, which needs to change its long-standing hostile policy towards North Korea. He highlighted the importance of bilateral visits between the Heads of State to establish mutual recognition and build a foundation for continuous improvement and development in China-Korea relations.

The Secretary highlighted the progress in China-Korea relations since the beginning of the Jae-myung government, expressing his confidence that the new government will support the interests of the Korean people and cooperate with China for the benefit of the nation. The Secretary noted that the bilateral visits between Heads of State would help solidify mutual recognition and lay the groundwork for continued improvements in China-Korea relations.
