2 Dead, Several Injured After Truck CNG Cylinder Explodes At Delhi Pump In Tikri Kalan

A tragic incident unfolded at a CNG station in Delhi’s Tikri Kalan area on Wednesday, resulting in two fatalities and multiple injuries. The explosion, caused by a CNG cylinder fitted on a truck, sent shockwaves through the region, prompting panic near the Tikri Kalan Metro station. According to reports, the blast occurred at a CNG pump in the Outer Delhi’s Mundka area, injuring six individuals present nearby.

These injured were swiftly taken to a nearby hospital, but tragically, two of them succumbed to their injuries. The deceased have been identified as 25-year-old Manish, a resident of Baba Haridas Colony. Emergency response teams, including multiple Delhi Fire Services (DFS) units and police personnel, scrambled to the scene, launching rescue and relief operations.

The exact cause of the explosion remains under investigation, with authorities working to understand why the CNG cylinder exploded while the truck was at the station. A DFS official noted that the department was alerted to the incident at 3:37 pm, leading to the dispatch of six fire tenders to the location. The situation was brought under control after precautionary measures were taken by firefighters.
