YouTube to change view count from August 24; creators may see bigger numbers
From August 24, YouTube counts a view the moment a video starts playing, matching the standard already used for Shorts, TikTok and Instagram. The old 30 second threshold survives as "Engaged views" inside Analytics Advanced Mode.
