Widespread outage hits Google Home and Nest devices around the world

A significant server-side outage is currently impacting Google Home, Nest Hubs, Nest Minis, and various third-party displays worldwide, according to user reports on Reddit. Affected devices may display a white screen or continuously load, experience delayed voice responses, or fail to execute automations. Troubleshooting attempts, such as rebooting or factory resets, have proven ineffective.

The issue emerged following Google's recent release of a new update for Google Home, which introduced new features for the smart home ecosystem. While iOS users encountered an earlier bug that inadvertently activated smart lights, Google swiftly remedied the problem. The widespread outage now affects a diverse array of devices, including Nest Hubs, Google Home Mini/Nest Mini speakers, and third-party Google Assistant-enabled smart displays.

Users have reported that affected smart displays remain frozen on a blank screen or continuously display a spinning loading wheel when a voice command or physical interaction is initiated.
