White House attacks CNN reporter after Trump clash, invoking her children

On Monday, the White House unleashed a blistering personal attack on CNN reporter Kristen Holmes following her probing query during a press conference. Holmes had questioned President Donald Trump about his preference for travelling with aides over fulfilling his presidential duties. In response, Trump unleashed a barrage of insults, calling Ossoff a "Pee-wee Herman look-alike."

The White House's "rapid response" account on X posted a video clip of the exchange, branding Holmes as a "disgraceful, humiliating embarrassment to her profession." The account then doubled down with a more personal attack, stating "Someday, your children will come across your disgusting and inhumane question." In an additional tweet, the White House account wrote "It's quite troubling."

The White House declined to comment on its social media posts. Throughout his political career, Trump has been known for his confrontational approach to the press, particularly regarding women journalists, most recently targeting CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins. During the news conference, Trump also attempted to silence Holmes and labeled her work as "fake news."

CNN staunchly defended Holmes, describing her as "one of the most respected and accomplished journalists covering the White House."
