Watch: Rahane’s hilarious Shastri mimicry steals the show during Galle Test

During the first Test between India and Sri Lanka in Galle, former India captain Ajinkya Rahane delighted viewers with a hilarious imitation of former head coach Ravi Shastri. Rahane, who is making his Test commentary debut with Sony Sports Network, showed that his role will not be limited to analyzing the game. His impression, complete with Shastri's signature voice and energetic mannerisms, brought laughter to the broadcast.

The moment also held personal significance for Rahane, as Shastri had been closely involved in the Indian team during one of its most successful periods in Test cricket. Shastri worked alongside Rahane when India won the 2020-21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in Australia, with Rahane leading the team in Virat Kohli's absence for much of the series.

Rahane has previously praised Shastri's influence on Indian cricket, particularly in the strong and aggressive approach to Test matches during that era. Now, with Rahane behind the microphone, fans are witnessing a more relaxed side of the former India captain. His Shastri impression added humor to an otherwise action-focused broadcast.

This lighter moment was one of the highlights of the India-Sri Lanka series, offering viewers a glimpse into the camaraderie among India's past team members and coaching staff. As Rahane settles into his new role, such moments are providing entertainment beyond tactical analysis, showcasing the bond between players and coaches.
