Ukraine, Belgium FMs hold talks in shelter as air raid alert sounds in Kyiv

Ukrainian and Belgian Foreign Ministers held emergency talks in a bomb shelter during an air raid alert in Kyiv, according to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's announcement on social media platform X. The alert occurred shortly before the scheduled meeting between Ukrainian Acting Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot.

This was the sixth air raid alert in a single day and night. The bomb shelter became the setting for critical diplomatic discussions as Russian drones approached the Ukrainian capital. The meeting took place in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' bomb shelter, highlighting the harsh reality of conducting diplomacy amidst ongoing conflict.

During the visit to Kyiv, Prévot revealed a $6 million investment by Belgian investment company BIO Invest in the Rebuild Ukraine Fund (REBUF), aimed at supporting the country's reconstruction efforts.
