UKMTO says vessel struck by unknown projectiles off Yemen's Mocha

Recent shipping data has revealed a slight uptick in vessel movements through the Strait of Hormuz, despite ongoing US-Iran negotiations aimed at resolving the conflict. According to preliminary figures from Kpler, a shipping data provider, the number of vessels transiting the strategic waterway remained relatively low on Monday, with six vessels passing through.

This figure represents a modest increase compared to the 10-day average of 11 ships, despite the lack of progress in the diplomatic efforts to end the standoff between the United States and Iran. Kpler's data tracked the movements of six vessels carrying various commodities, with three departing the Gulf region and three entering.

Notably, none of the passing ships were very large crude carriers or liquefied natural gas tankers. Additionally, the data indicated that a large gas carrier named Exavia entered the strait unladen, while a medium-range fuel tanker and another medium-range vessel entered the Gulf. The movements also included a medium-sized LPG carrier, a Panamax-class bulk carrier, and a Panamax-sized fuel tanker exiting the region.
