UK employers raise pay by least in 10 months, Brightmine says

British employers' pay settlements have hit a 10-month low, according to a survey by human resources data firm Brightmine. The median pay award decreased to 3.2% in the three months leading up to July, down from 3.3% in the previous period. Sheila Attwood, Brightmine's HR insights and data lead, noted that over a third of matched pay awards were lower than last year, indicating some employers are becoming more cautious.

The survey, based on 36 pay awards implemented between May 1 and July 31, represented pay settlements for approximately 762,000 UK employees. Official data released on Tuesday also revealed that the jobs market weakened slightly in the second quarter.
