Tinubu’s 2027 election will be easier than 2023, says Wike

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu will face an easier road in the 2027 presidential election compared to his 2023 campaign. During an inspection tour of flood-affected areas, Wike emphasized that the opposition's fragmented status would hinder their ability to pose a significant challenge to Tinubu in the upcoming election.

The former Rivers State governor asserted that the opposition has been weakened due to defections and shifting allegiances, describing them as "depleted." Wike stressed that a robust opposition requires years of groundwork rather than opportunistic party hopping. He firmly predicted Tinubu's victory in 2027, dismissing any opposition criticism as futile, stating that the administration's achievements are irreversible.
