Three killed in blast at Baniyas power plant on Syria’s coast

Three individuals lost their lives in an explosion at Baniyas thermal power station located on Syria's Mediterranean coast, according to Syrian state media. The blast took place at the energy facility situated in the Baniyas area of Tartus province, as confirmed by state news agency SANA. Emergency responders and authorities are currently on-site to investigate the cause and nature of the explosion.

Recent weeks have witnessed multiple deadly explosions throughout the country. A blast in the Damascus suburb of Jaramana last week claimed two lives and injured several others.

Syrian state television reported an explosive device placed in a minivan caused the Jaramana explosion. In July, a bomb attack at a cafe in central Damascus resulted in nine deaths and 20 injuries, as reported by Syrian authorities.
