Supreme Court Reportedly Orders to Shift Ex PM Imran Khan to Hospital Immediately

The Supreme Court has directed authorities to relocate former Prime Minister Imran Khan from Adiala Jail to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad for urgent medical attention. A three-judge panel, led by Justice Shahid Waheed, ruled that Khan will stay at the hospital until the next hearing on September 16. He is to be moved under stringent security measures, with law and order around the hospital to be preserved.

The court established a medical board to evaluate and treat Imran Khan. His sister, Dr. Uzma Khan, and his personal physician Dr. Aasim Yusuf will be permitted to attend his medical examination and treatment, with the family responsible for all costs. This order followed petitions advocating for improved medical care, as well as requests for the patient's family and doctors to have access to Khan.

The Supreme Court demanded the complete medical record instead of the two-page summary provided by Adiala Jail authorities. This summary, spanning 39 medical consultations by specialists from November 2023 to August 2026, will be made available. Furthermore, the court sought information on Khan's encounters with his family in the past three years and his communication with his sons. The bench postponed the hearing until September 16 and summoned the Adiala Jail officials for the upcoming session.
