SIET to organise short film fete for students in Keralam

High school, higher secondary, and vocational higher secondary students will take part in fete aimed at creating awareness of Home department’s anti-drug drive Operation Toofan.

The State Institution of Educational Technology (SIET) is set to host a short film festival for students across various levels of education in Keralam. The event aims to raise awareness about the Keralam Home department's anti-drug drive, Operation Toofan. This collaboration with the Home department will see district-level competitions with the top three schools advancing to the state-level.

Winning teams at the district level will receive ₹10,000, a trophy, and a certificate. At the state level, the first prize is ₹1 lakh, with the second and third prize winners taking home ₹75,000 and ₹50,000 respectively. Additional prizes will be awarded for best actors, director, and screenplay. The Minister for General Education, N. Samsudheen, announced these details during a press conference.

The initiative is part of a broader effort to combat drug abuse, and students have already been submitting their short films for consideration. SIET will showcase the top films at both state and district levels. SIET director T. Sibi Mohammed attended the press conference. For further details, terms and conditions are available.
