Remi Wolf Announces New Album Mud

Remi Wolf, the acclaimed artist, has revealed details about her upcoming third album, Mud, set to release on October 9th through Island Records. The anticipation builds as the first single, "Bottle," is scheduled for a release on August 20th. This announcement follows the success of the lead single, "Twiggy," which was recently featured in their Staff Picks.

The full-length album will consist of eleven tracks, incorporating "Bottle" and "Twiggy" among its composition. According to a press release, Mud builds upon the sonic landscape introduced by the lead single, representing a further development of Remi Wolf's limitless creativity. The album is described as "warmer, more spacious, and deeply human," without losing the adventurous spirit that has characterized her work throughout.

In a statement, Wolf shared her emotional journey of creating the album, stating, "I feel like I’ve crossed into a new phase of life because of this album." She described the process as a cleansing experience, transitioning from feeling "covered in shit" to feeling "clean and clear." The album's development was a result of extensive touring, writing, and recording sessions.

For the first time in recent years, Wolf experienced a period of profound self-reflection. The album's inception took place during early recording sessions in Nashville, but its spiritual essence emerged during a retreat in Big Bear, California, alongside her longtime collaborators Jared Solomon, Jack DeMeo, Jamie McLaughlin, and Gigi Grombacher.

This collaboration resulted in an "earthy, lived-in sound rooted in melody, storytelling, and performances that feel unmistakably alive." Remi Wolf's prior album, Big Ideas, was recognized on Consequence's list of the Best Albums of 2024, and her debut album Juno had previously received a CoSign in 2021, spotlighting her unique style.

The tracklist for Mud includes the singles "Bottle," "Twiggy," and "Burn Me Blue," as well as tracks such as "Jamie," "Covered In Mud," "Moon So High," "I Won't Cry," "Wine Drunk," "Guess," and "Yellow Rose."
