In Lawas, a 17-year-old boy sustained injuries to both of his legs, believed to be caused by a shotgun, in a shooting incident at a water reservation area. The youth, who had gone to the water reservation area after returning home around 5 p.m. on Saturday, was reportedly feeling dizzy in his legs when he arrived. The police received a report at 9:51 a.m. on Sunday, and initial investigations revealed the victim had four gunshot wounds.

His father arrived to find the youth lying in a nearby forest area at around 8 p.m. and attempted to provide first aid. The young man was later taken to Lawas Hospital for treatment and is now reported to be in stable condition. An investigation is underway under Sections 37 of the Weapons Act 1960 and Section 307 of the Penal Code to determine the cause and identify the individual involved.
