Prosecution challenges Zizie Izette’s acquittal in RM150 million FELCRA bribery case

The prosecution has appealed against the acquittal of Datin Seri Zizie Izette Abdul Samad in a RM150 million FELCRA bribery case, according to a July 31 notice filed at the High Court Registry in Kuala Lumpur. The appeal challenges the Sessions Court Judge Rosli Ahmad's decision on July 20 to acquit and discharge Zizie Izette after a defence case concluded with reasonable doubt.

The prosecution is dissatisfied with the decision and seeks copies of the notes of evidence and the grounds of judgment under Section 307(5) of the Criminal Procedure Code. The prosecution is also dissatisfied with the discharge of Zizie Izette's late husband, Bung Moktar Radin, who was convicted of abetting her in obtaining RM2.8 million in cash gratification, as they argue that this affects their ability to establish the essential element of the abetment charges against Zizie Izette.
