Posthumous Memoir by L7’s Jennifer Finch Announced

A posthumous memoir by L7 bassist Jennifer Finch is set to be released on January 19th. The book, titled "Shooting Up and Making Out: A Memoir of My Life in LA and L7," was co-written by Jeff Alulis. The memoir paints a candid and clear-eyed portrait of Finch's life, focusing on her experiences as a recovering addict, photographer, co-founder of a pro-choice group, and member of the groundbreaking all-female hard rock band L7.

Alulis worked closely with Finch for two years to ensure she was satisfied with the final product. He expressed his grief over her untimely death from brain cancer, but is excited to share her story with the world. Finch's musical journey began in Sugar Babydoll, which included future Hole frontwoman Courtney Love and Babes in Toyland founder Kat Bjelland.

She co-founded L7 with Donita Sparks and Suzi Gardner in 1986, becoming one of the pioneering feminist rock bands of the time.
