Police raid suspected ‘black spots’ in Yola, arrest 29 suspects

On Tuesday morning, police conducted raids on suspected "black spots" in Yola, the capital of Adamawa State, resulting in the arrest of 29 individuals. The Yola Area Police Command, under the leadership of Area Commander ACP Grace Sanda, carried out the operation following an order from the Commissioner of Police, Kabir Umar Hassan. The Commissioner had instructed Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) throughout the state to dismantle locations used for criminal activities.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed in a statement that the operation led to the recovery of various illicit substances and materials. Among the items seized were dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, tramadol capsules, wraps of suspected illicit substances, pipes, lighters, bottles, and other equipment believed to be utilized for drug consumption and distribution.

Nguroje informed DAILY POST that the 29 suspects are currently under police custody as investigators work to determine their individual roles and identify other persons allegedly involved in the activities uncovered during the raids.
