Over 9 terrorists killed in Balochistan IBOs: state media

Quetta, Pakistan - Security forces in Balochistan have carried out intelligence-based operations (IBO) that resulted in the deaths of more than nine terrorists, according to state media. The operations took place in Ziarat, Harnai, and Surab under Operation Rad-ul-Fitna 3, as reported by Pakistan TV. Arms and ammunition were recovered from the deceased terrorists, marking the latest in a series of security measures as Balochistan continues to face security challenges.

On Monday, two terrorists were killed and three others injured in an IBO in Killi Zaik. This incident followed seven terrorist deaths and injuries in Kharan’s Lajay area the previous day. An IBO in Shor Pard, Khuzdar district, on Saturday claimed the lives of ten terrorists and injured many others. These events follow the killing of at least 18 terrorists in Surab district, including eight in a premature detonation.

The military’s media affairs wing confirmed these numbers. The Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) reported a significant deterioration in Balochistan’s security situation last month, with the overall death toll rising by 241% from 109 in June to 372 in July. Security personnel deaths in Balochistan surged 933% from six in June to 62 in July, while terrorist deaths increased from 75 to 238.

Civilian deaths also rose by 93%, from 28 to 54, with eight peace committee members killed in the province.
