Oti NPP executives demand completion of stalled government projects

The newly elected leaders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ghana's Oti Region have urged the government to expedite the completion of stalled infrastructure projects. These projects include the Oti Regional Coordinating Council (ORCC) office and accommodation, which were initiated by the previous NPP administration. Dr Frank Yirenkyi, the Oti NPP Regional Chairman, made the call during a press briefing in Dambai, highlighting that several of these projects were nearing completion but remained unused due to the lack of electricity.

He questioned whether these projects were being neglected because they were part of an NPP-led administration, urging authorities to prioritize public welfare over political affiliation. Additionally, Dr Yirenkyi criticized the slow pace of development in the region, noting that the current Oti Regional Minister was using a facility originally meant for the Krachi East Municipal Assembly while ORCC staff operate from multiple locations.

The NPP party requested President John Mahama and the Oti Regional Minister to fulfill their commitments to complete the abandoned projects, which were funded by taxpayers' money and should not deteriorate.

Seidu Musah, the Oti NPP Regional Communications Officer, affirmed that the newly elected executives would continue to highlight these stalled development projects across the region. He assured that the party would collaborate with relevant stakeholders to secure clear timelines and action plans for the projects' completion.
