‘No one can afford Ajith’s high fee’: Distributor on why star is producing DareDevil himself

Tamil film financier Tiruppur Subramaniam recently criticized the habit of top actors skipping movie promotions. He specifically targeted Ajith Kumar and Nayanthara for this double-standard, noting that they promote their own ventures, such as Ajith's racing team and Nayanthara's home productions. Subramaniam pointed out that Ajith Kumar finally decided to become a producer after realizing that no producer could afford to pay his high salary.

He waited for 1.5 years to see if producers could match his demanded salary, but none were willing to take the risk due to the high cost involved. Subramaniam emphasized that the market situation makes it impossible for producers to afford high salaries for movie stars. He pointed out that if such high-paid actors refuse to lower their salaries, they are left with no choice but to produce their own movies.

Subramaniam criticized the practice of actors skipping promotions, highlighting that actors from other states often participate in such activities. He urged producers to put their foot down and ensure actors attend promotions if they are involved in a movie.
