NeoGeo Bags $20 Mn To Scale Its Full-Stack Geospatial Business

Geospatial technology firm NeoGeo has secured approximately $20 Mn (₹191 Cr) in a Series A funding round, led jointly by Neev II Fund and Aavishkaar Capital. The investment arm of the Aavishkaar Group, Aavishkaar Capital, co-led the round alongside SBI Ventures, a subsidiary of the State Bank of India. NeoGeo intends to utilize the funds to expand its platform and product offerings, bolster research and development efforts, enhance technical capabilities, and bolster its workforce.

Based in Gurugram, the startup aims to broaden its reach into global markets, particularly the Middle East and the Americas. Sreeramam GV, NeoGeo's co-founder and CEO, expressed enthusiasm about the investment, stating that it will enable them to "invest decisively in that conviction: scaling our platform business, deepening R&D, expanding into international markets, and hiring across engineering and delivery."

Founded in 2019 by Sreeramam GV and Brahmam GVS, NeoGeo offers geospatial intelligence solutions to various clients in sectors such as natural-resource management, disaster management, urban governance, utilities, infrastructure, and smart cities. The company operates throughout the geospatial value chain, gathering data through satellite imagery, LiDAR, drones, and ground surveys, followed by processing and analysis using AI and ML.

Additionally, NeoGeo has created industry-specific platforms like OptiFleet for fleet and network optimization, GeoBalance for natural resource management, UrbanVista for urban planning and smart-city visualization, and InfraSync for infrastructure asset management. The startup has completed over 200 projects, mapped more than 5 lakh square kilometers, and manages over 550 continuously operating reference stations (CORS).

As per Tracxn, NeoGeo raised $1.5 Mn in its seed round in 2024. The funding comes at a time when India is focusing on leveraging geospatial data for governance, infrastructure development, disaster management, and climate-resilience planning. The National Geospatial Policy, announced in 2022, aims to promote private-sector participation and position geospatial data as a cornerstone of India's digital infrastructure.
