NBC raises Peacock’s price for the fourth year in a row

NBC Universal has disclosed that Peacock will undergo another price increase, marking the fourth consecutive year of such hikes for the streaming platform. Launched in 2020, Peacock will now charge $12.99/month for its Premium plan and $19.99/month for Premium Plus, as reported by Variety. These new prices will apply immediately to new subscribers and to existing customers starting with their next billing cycle, which begins on or after September 17.

This price hike comes shortly after NBC announced "Peacock Membership Awards," offering discounts on NBC products, an Instacart+ subscription (valid for one year), and a Pizza Hut code, among other rewards. NBC, however, did not mention the price increases in the announcement, keeping it a surprise for many subscribers.

The recent price hikes are now the fourth consecutive year of increases for Peacock, which had only cost $4.99/month in 2023. Prior to these hikes, Peacock saw two other price increases in the previous three years. Notably, Peacock is not alone in raising its prices, as other streaming services like Apple TV+ and Netflix have followed suit.

To further enhance its offerings, Peacock has partnered with YouTube to bundle the two premium services together. This collaboration is expected to provide users with a more comprehensive streaming experience.
