NBA Trade Rumors: Knicks Bigs, What’s Next for Cavaliers & Jonathan Kuminga

As the NBA trade rumor mill continues to churn, the Cleveland Cavaliers are in the spotlight. After sending Dennis Schroder to the Hornets, the Cavaliers are now looking to trade Max Strus, who is owed $16.6 million. To make room under the first apron, the Cavaliers must trade Strus if they want to pursue young players Jonathan Kuminga or Peyton Watson.

Only six teams have enough space under their hard cap to absorb Strus, but teams like the Thunder and Celtics are unlikely candidates. Other potential destinations for Strus include the Hornets, Clippers, Grizzlies and Bucks. However, each team would bring its own set of complications to the deal.

The New Orleans Pelicans have two promising candidates for a sign-and-trade deal, Trey Murphy and Herb Jones. However, new coach Jamahl Mosely is not keen on trading Jones, which could complicate the Cavs' pursuit of Kuminga or Watson.

Meanwhile, the New York Knicks are looking for a young, developmental big man to replace Mitchell Robinson and Ariel Hukporti. The Knicks believe that a big man like Max Strus, if acquired via trade, could fit their needs.
