Mohammed Hails Peaceful Council Polls

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has lauded the orderly, peaceful, and transparent conduct of the recent Local Government Council elections held across the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state. The Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BASIEC) oversaw the voting process in various polling units.

The governor, who cast his vote in Alkaleri Local Government Area, expressed optimism that the Allied People's Movement (APM), which he introduced to the people of Bauchi State, would achieve success in the upcoming 2027 general election. Following his vote, the governor commended the State Independent Electoral Commission and election officials for their diligent work in ensuring a smooth electoral process.

The governor reiterated his administration's commitment to supporting a democratic system that empowers citizens to cast their votes freely and choose their desired leaders. He also assured the people of Bauchi State that his government would take all necessary measures to safeguard the voting process, count the votes accurately, and reflect the true will of the electorate.

However, the governor criticized certain political parties for withdrawing from the election shortly before the voting process, as this move could undermine the participation of citizens in the democratic process. The governor urged the electorate to maintain peace and vigilance throughout the voting and counting processes and called upon all stakeholders and political actors to respect the outcome of the election for the sake of peace and development in Bauchi State.
