Meyiwa trial postponed over State’s bid to introduce new evidence

The trial for Senzo Meyiwa's murder has been delayed until Thursday, pending legal counsel's written submissions. The State prosecutor, Ronnie Sibanda, had requested permission to introduce new evidence to cross-examine accused number three, Mthobisi Mncube. However, the defense argued that this would unfairly prejudice all the accused.

The judge then sought written submissions before deciding on the State's application to introduce the new evidence. Advocate Zandile Mshololo strongly opposes the move, stating that it is unfair and would render the trial unjust. Introducing new evidence during the defense case, she argues, would unfairly disadvantage all the accused and compromise the integrity of the trial.
