On Tuesday, Minister for Human Resources Management D. Sarathkumar announced an increase in maternity leave for women government employees. The leave for a third child will be raised from the existing 12 weeks to a full year, 365 days. Currently, women with two or more children are granted up to 12 weeks of maternity leave. A new app, 'Vetri Paathai', will be developed at a cost of ₹20 lakh for students preparing for competitive exams conducted by various recruitment bodies.

Additionally, a building at the headquarters of the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission will be constructed at a cost of ₹12.5 crore, featuring a CCTV surveillance system at a cost of ₹10 lakh. A computer laboratory with modern infrastructure will be set up at the Government Training Institute at Bhavanisagar with a budget of ₹1 crore, alongside sports facilities valued at ₹2.25 crore to provide a healthy environment for trainees.

Under the 'Simple Governance' initiative, 150 government services are planned to be offered this financial year. Sarathkumar also humorously mentioned Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay's acting credits and referred to Vijay as "the Prime Minister of tomorrow."
