LIVESTREAM: National Mining Dialogue 2026 underway in Accra [Watch]

The 2026 National Mining Dialogue commenced in Accra at the Kempinski Hotel, uniting crucial players to discuss Ghana's mining sector future. Organized by Asempa FM's Ekosiisen and Semmis DS Group, the event bears the theme "Rethinking the Social Licence to Operate." The session aims to explore ways mining firms, government, traditional authorities, and local communities can cultivate sustainable trust and enhance collaboration in mining regions.

Conversations are also set to investigate Ghana's resource management system, pinpoint successful aspects, and tackle obstacles impacting the industry's sustainable growth. Notable attendees comprise high-ranking government officials, traditional leaders, mining sector regulators, and industry representatives. The Ga Mantse and President of the Ga Traditional Council, H.R.M.

King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, presides as chairman, while former Chief of Staff, Dr Julius Debrah, is honored as the special guest. Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources' Minister Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah joins as a distinguished attendee. Additional speakers include Minerals Commission CEO Isaac Andrews Tandoh, Minerals Income Investment Fund CEO Mrs Justina Nelson, and Ghana Gold Board CEO Sammy Gyamfi.

Administrator of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, will also address the audience. The event's host is Philip Osei Bonsu, who anticipates stakeholders utilizing this platform to deliberate on actionable steps to fortify relations between mining enterprises and neighboring communities. Organizers express that the dialogue aims to foster collaboration between government, traditional leadership, and industry, encouraging practices ensuring Ghana's mineral assets significantly contribute to nationwide sustainable development.
