Amidst the global focus on Hamas, a pressing question arises: who will intervene to halt the escalating violence against Israeli settlers in the West Bank? Palestinian families in villages such as Qusra are enduring a daily assault on their rights to exist, with their homes besieged by settlers and their access to basic necessities cut off.

In Qusra, families have been imprisoned within their own homes, cut off from the outside world, with water, electricity, and food supplies being restricted. Arab-owned livestock is being stolen, homes are being raided, and settler violence is becoming a routine threat. In one incident, settlers surrounded a house, forcing Israeli soldiers to remove the camera recording the events.

In another, a settler shot dead a family member in front of surviving family members, and the Israeli police did not intervene. This pattern of violence is not limited to Qusra; it is occurring across the occupied West Bank, with homes being attacked, cars being torched, and crops being damaged. The Israeli army is not providing adequate protection, often aiding the attackers.

Human rights organizations have warned of the threat of mass atrocities due to the escalating settler violence. The relationship between settlers and the state is described as "State Violence = Settler Violence." In Khirbet Susiya, armed settlers attacked homes and vehicles, setting fire to tents and equipment, while none of the attackers were detained.

In the Jordan Valley, families were forced to flee their homes after facing prolonged settler harassment. These attacks are not just individual assaults; they are an attack on the very conditions that make Palestinian life possible.
