Kinder Project Turns 1: How the Nightclub Became One of the Best in LatAm

The Kinder Project, a nightclub in Bogota, Colombia, celebrated its one-year anniversary on October 31. Originally a Catholic school, the venue underwent a transformation into one of the top clubs in Latin America. The project was born from the vision of a group of partners who had previously founded Kaputt, a club that defined a generation of Bogota's electronic music scene. This legacy provided Kinder with a loyal audience from its inception.

The club's renovation involved converting over 4,000 square meters of the old school into seven distinct rooms, each with its own unique atmosphere. The majority of the renovation used 200 tons of recycled material, with an investment of over 6 billion pesos (US$1.9 million) on structural work and soundproofing. Twenty partners, mostly with backgrounds in nightlife, funded the project and currently welcome up to 4,500 guests per night.

Unlike a typical club, Kinder operates as a series of independent spaces under one roof. The Kaputt room is the flagship venue, dedicated to techno, house, and experimental electronic music. The Bonfire hosts live concerts with programming that spans various genres and has become a popular venue for band performances. Pantera focuses on urban atmospheres centered on Black and Latin rhythms, while the Meridian Bar offers an intimate, premium experience. Sector 9 and Depot complete the lineup of rooms that shape the club's sensory experience.

Kinder's success can be attributed to its unique approach to nightlife. By offering a diverse range of experiences in one location, the club has attracted a loyal following and built a reputation for intensity and vibrancy. In its first year, Kinder hosted two major music industry events: the Kaputt Festival Futuro and the BIME Bogota anniversary celebration. These events showcased various artists, including Barranquilla-born Till High, and helped establish Kinder as a prominent player in Bogota's club scene.

With over 67,000 Instagram followers and a diverse agenda, Kinder has successfully met its goal of providing a distinct nightlife space in Bogota. The club continues to evolve, blending in-house parties, festivals, and industry gatherings to create a one-of-a-kind experience that sets it apart from other clubs in the region.
