Kane set to begin talks over new Bayern contract

Harry Kane is set to commence talks with Bayern Munich regarding a new contract extension, according to the striker. The 33-year-old has just 12 months remaining on his current four-year deal, signed upon his £86.4m transfer from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2023. Kane netted 61 goals in 51 appearances across all competitions during the 2023-24 season as Bayern secured a league and cup double victory.

Speaking to the media, Kane expressed his readiness to discuss a new deal, stating that both his club and himself are calm about the situation, with talks expected to commence in the coming week. Kane has proven his value to Bayern with 98 goals in 94 games across three Bundesliga campaigns, including three successive Bundesliga Golden Boot awards.

The England captain also highlighted his recent performance for England at the 2026 World Cup, becoming the nation's leading World Cup scorer with 14 goals. Despite his focus on the upcoming season, Kane acknowledged the possibility of winning the 2026 Ballon d'Or, but emphasized that the decision lies beyond his control.
