Jalgaon: Gram Sevak Dies While Fleeing After Alleged Assault During Gram Sabha; 7 Booked

In Jalgaon's Parola taluka, a 52-year-old Gram Sevak, Prahlad Patil, tragically passed away on Monday, August 17, while attempting to flee from an alleged assault during a Gram Sabha. The incident occurred in the village of Shivre. Patil's death followed a dispute between him and certain villagers over outstanding bills, which escalated into an argument involving verbal abuse and physical violence.

Desperate to escape the dangerous situation, Patil reportedly tried to flee but collapsed and later died. The precise cause of his death remains under investigation by the police. Following the incident, authorities arrived at the scene to question the individuals present. Seven people have been booked in connection with the case under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

One suspect has been apprehended by the Nashik police, while efforts are ongoing to locate the remaining accused. The police are currently examining the events that led to the altercation, the roles of the accused individuals, and the circumstances surrounding Patil's untimely demise. This shocking incident has caused unrest among the residents of Shivre, who are concerned about the assault on a government employee while he was performing his official duties.

As a precaution, additional police personnel have been deployed in the area. Further investigation is underway to ascertain all the facts of the case.
