Green wheelbarrow: Methu subtly attacks Ndindi Nyoro’s PPK party

John Methu, Secretary General of Democracy for Citizens, delivered a veiled criticism of the People's Party of Kenya (PPK), the political party linked to Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro. During a gathering where Wiper Party representatives visited former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua at his residence, Methu likened PPK to a "green wheelbarrow," suggesting its purpose is to dilute DCP's influence in the region.

Methu's remarks came at a time when PPK has been gaining attention due to its green color, which is shared with DCP's branding. The Wiper Party leader did not directly name the party, but his analogy aimed to illustrate his concern over the party's formation and potential impact on the political landscape in the Mt Kenya region.

Methu further criticized the ease with which small political parties are being formed, highlighting the challenges faced by the Linda Mwananchi movement in its unsuccessful attempts to register a party, while other smaller parties managed to navigate the process more smoothly. He vowed to name these "wheelbarrows" at the right moment, indicating his intention to bring attention to the issue.

Despite the negative reception of Nyoro's party from some DCP supporters, the opposition leader continued to advocate for the "One Mountain, One Agenda, One Party" concept, which has been endorsed by DCP and other opposition figures in the region. This stance has been met with resistance, as some in Gachagua's camp accused Nyoro's party of being an instrument of the state intended to create confusion and divide political support in the region.
