French government to hire French AI providers such as Mistral, Minister says

PARIS, August 18 - French Budget Minister David Amiel announced on Tuesday that the government plans to hire domestic AI providers, including Mistral, according to a report. Prior to this, Amiel had stated his government would utilize AI tools to assess potential vulnerabilities to cyberattacks following the disclosure on Thursday that the tax agency had fallen victim to such an attack.

The incident resulted in the theft of personal data belonging to approximately 700,000 taxpayers, as disclosed by the French Finance Ministry. Amelie Verdier, the head of the French tax agency, revealed that her department detected an additional data breach on Monday, though the ongoing evaluation of this breach remains uncertain.
