PUTRAJAYA, August 18 — Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil criticised Facebook, labeling the platform as the "most guilty" among social media sites for facilitating online gambling and scams in Malaysia. According to Fahmi, Facebook accounted for 78% of online gambling content flagged for removal between January 1 and August 17 this year.
"The platform that is the most guilty, the most problematic in terms of online gambling, is Facebook," he stated during a speech at the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and the Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM).
