Embassy of Indonesia and community commemorate 81st Anniversary of Independence

Doha, Qatar witnessed a solemn ceremony at the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) to commemorate the 81st Anniversary of Indonesia's Independence. The event, organized by the KBRI Doha, was attended by over 200 members of the Indonesian community residing in Qatar. The ceremony was overseen by the Ambassador of Indonesia to Qatar, H.E. Syahda Guruh Langkah Samudera, who also served as the ceremony inspector. The flag-raising was performed by 14 Indonesian youths and students in Qatar.

Following the flag-raising, a thanksgiving gathering was held at the Embassy, where a traditional Indonesian rice dish, the tumpeng, was ceremonially cut. Other Ambassadors, colleagues from ASEAN Embassies, and friends of Indonesia in Doha also attended the event.

Ambassador Syahda Guruh Langkah Samudera emphasized that the 81st Anniversary of Indonesia's Independence is a time to honor the sacrifices and struggles of the nation's heroes, express gratitude for independence, and strengthen unity and concern for fellow Indonesians. He called upon members of the Indonesian community in Qatar to join prayers and offer solidarity to Indonesians affected by recent earthquakes in East Nusa Tenggara, Central Sulawesi, and North Sumatra.
