DeSean Bishop named to Walter Camp Player of the Year Award watch list

Tennessee's DeSean Bishop has been added to the watch list for the 2026 Walter Camp Player of the Year Award, a prestigious honor bestowed upon the nation's most outstanding individual college football player. The award is decided by a panel of 138 NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors. Bishop, a senior running back, joins 50 other players on the preseason watch list, which includes nine running backs.

Entering his fourth season at Tennessee in 2026, Bishop has amassed an impressive 1,531 rushing yards and 19 rushing touchdowns across 256 attempts, along with 16 receptions for 145 yards. Standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing 215 pounds, the 5-foot-10, 215-pound running back red-shirted as a freshman in 2023. Tennessee's football season is set to commence on September 5 against Furman, with the opener scheduled for 3:30 p.m. EDT at Neyland Stadium.
