Cordis and Tai On team up with food illustrator Kai to celebrate Hong Kong’s 3.15pm tea culture

Cordis, a five-star hotel in Hong Kong, has partnered with Tai On Coffee & Tea Shop and food illustrator Kai to celebrate the city's cherished 3.15pm tea culture. This collaboration, titled 'Art In Residence: Tea Time Stories', will run from August 17 to October 31, showcasing Kai's illustrations in both Cordis' lobby and Tai On's vintage cha chaan teng space.

Renowned for her Instagram series, Kai captures dining experiences and culinary cultures with her unique sketches. Executive pastry chef Roy Ma at Cordis has created limited-edition pastries inspired by Hong Kong afternoon tea classics. These include a peanut butter and condensed milk mille-feuille, a coconut red bean mousse cake, and a caramelised peanut toast cake.

Guests can pair these treats with a '3:15pm tea time combo' at Alibi - Wine Dine Be Social, featuring a peanut butter mille-feuille and a salted lime gin and tonic.

Tai On Coffee & Tea Shop in Yau Ma Tei will also offer exclusive items, such as a peanut butter egg tart and thick-cut French toast filled with coconut milk and sweet red bean. For a drink, they have a salted kumquat espresso tonic. Interactive activities include a free instant photo experience at Cordis and themed paper tape and coffee bags at Tai On.

Visitors spending $250 or more on pastries at Cordis' Goodies Shop will receive a Tea Time Stories themed tote bag. The exhibition can be seen at both locations until October 31, 2023.
